September is St Pete Arts Month
From cocktail operas to grand openings, this year’s arts month in St Pete has plenty of events to choose from to experience the art scene first hand. St Petersburg is rich in culture and fosters growth of local artists from musicians to muralists. In honor of arts month we want to shine the spotlight on two of our favorite artists in the Tampa Bay area, Michael Vahl and Cam Parker.
Michael Vahl
Michael Vahl
Michael Vahl is a visual artist born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He specializes in portraiture and other unique styles of artwork. Drawing since the age of 5, Michael is consistently learning his craft, honing his skills to produce works of art for the enjoyment of others.
He decided to leave his life behind, including friends and family, to pursue his dream of being an artist here in Tampa Bay. He has dedicated himself to visual art and is constantly aiming to learn new methods and skills that his clients and viewers will appreciate and love for years to come.

Cam Parker
Cam Parker
Cam is an energetic, imaginative fine artist and illustrator based in Tampa, Florida who attended Northern Illinois University as a painting major and fashion minor. He gathers influence from Lady Gaga, Frida Kahlo, Alexander McQueen, and pop culture. Cam works to create sarcastic, electrically charged vision of all things pop culture. His work is dynamic, catching the eye with bright colors in contrast with present day messages of inclusion, equal rights, and a splash of fierce fem edge.
He mixes media challenging himself to marry pen and ink with colored pencils graphite, blending acrylic and spray paint and immersing myself in digital manipulation. Commission portraits, large scale paintings, murals and tattoo designs are among his favorite things to produce. You can follow Cam’s work on Facebook.
