St. Petersburg Waterfront 4th Of July Fireworks & Food Truck Rally featuring local radio stations Q105, QYK 99.5, B98.7, WLLD, and Maxima and food trucks including Rolling with my Hoagies Food Truck, Skoops Italian Ice and more.

Swing Night-Hot Club of SRQ is hosting a dance night at Ale and the Witch from 8-11pm and if you’re into swing dancing, you’re not going to want to miss this.

Support the Special Operations Warrior Foundations at Locale Market’s All-American Market Tasting. Enjoy a taste of all-American food starting July 4th through July 7th – 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.  for the independent price of $17.76 (get it?!).

Light Up Tampa Bay Independence Day Celebration is happening this weekend in Channelside and is Tampa Bay’s largest fireworks display with live music and food benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay.

6th annual racing event happening at Showtime Speedway in Pinellas Park starting at 5pm.

Independence Day Celebration at Great Explorations Children’s museum in St Pete will feature patriotic activities throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bonus: Military (active and retired) and first responders get in free!

Largo’s 4th of July Celebration starts at 6pm at Largo Central Park is located at 101 Central Park Dr, Largo 33771. One Blood will be there accepting donations (and giving away free movie tickets for them!) and there will be lots of family friendly activities.

4th of July Skate at Skateworld of Tampa will have $1 admission if you wear red white or blue with skate rentals just $3.50.

Clearwater Celebrates America at Coachman Park, 301 Drew St., Clearwater, FL 33755 from
4-10 p.m will have live entertainment, a kids zone, local vendors and food trucks, and (of course) fireworks!

 

Veteran's Day at The Florida Aquarium

From all of us at The Price Group, we want to share a full, sincere thank you to all of the men and women who have served in our military. As a special thank you, we will be at Coldwell Banker’s event at the Florida Aquarium from 10-11am with a few special treats for attending veterans. The Aquarium opens at 9:30am until 5pm and will be free plus one guest for all active and retired military with ID. Additional tickets up to four will be a discounted $15. There will be raffles, family events and Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn will be there as well. We look forward to seeing you!

Ribfest

 

It’s that time of year again, St. Pete! Ribfest is taking over Vinoy Park this weekend from Friday around 11am through Sunday evening. You don’t have to love ribs to enjoy this three day event. Music from big names like The Doobie Brothers and Huey Lewis and the News to local legends such as The Black Honkeys will be playing in the afternoons all weekend long. Bring the family down and enjoy the Family Fun Zone sponsored by Great Explorations Children’s Museum. They have a kids menu where everything from corn dogs to lemonade are only $2. Be sure to look for our agent James Silver who will be giving out coozies on Sunday (until they run out) – you just have to find him!

 

Second Saturday Art Walk

 

If you’ve never experience the art of St. Petersburg, the Second Saturday Artwalk is the best place to start. The event spans from Historic Kenwood to Downtown showcasing local artists from around the area. Hop on the trolley (see the full schedule here!) and enjoy local art while enjoying a craft hanging out at 3 Daughters after dinner. The trolley service makes stops all over downtown which gives you an opportunity to explore your city from a different perspective. At Trolley stop #2 you can catch The Photo Ninja and a live model photo shoot! Events start around 5pm 11/12 and go throughout the night.

 

St. Pete T-shirt Company Grand Opening

Love St. Pete? We do, too! And now you can let the world know. St. Pete T-shit Company’s grand opening will be held at its store at 655 Central Avenue, Saint Petersburg, Florida 33701 on 11/12 from 6pm-9pm. There will be live painting from local artist Chad Mize and raffles for shirts, art, and glass blowing workshop from Zen Glass Studio and Gallery. So, ya know… hit up Artwalk and head down here. Halloween Safety Tips From The Price Group Realtors

Trick or treat! Soon little ones will be knocking on doors in costumes and adults going to less-than-kid-friendly (but still fun!) events. Halloween is a fun-for-all-ages day. But a lot can go wrong. With the recent creepy clowns that have been popping up throughout the country, we want to make sure you are being safe this candy-eating season. Here are some Halloween safety tips to help keep you and your family safe this year.

Tips For Parents

1. Don’t walk in the street

In neighborhoods like Kenwood or Old Northeast it can seem easier to cross the street wherever it’s convenient instead of crossing in the crosswalk. Especially with the parking of larger cars on the street, it can be very difficult for oncoming cars to see children in time. Also, avoid walking between parked cars. Bottom line: Use the crosswalks. That’s what they’re for.

2. Ensure your child is seen

If you are unable to go early in the evening, make sure your child is seen by passing cars by adding a reflective tape to their costume, shoes, and/or candy bag. You can also have them carry or wear glow sticks, just ensure that the life of them is longer or as long as you plan on being out and about.

3. Do not leave your child unoccupied

Again, maybe a bit of a no-brainer, but it’s worth mentioning. Keeping them within your line of sight can ensure they are not exposed to anything not age-appropriate and ensure they are not eating any candy that may be dangerous.

Tips For Adult Trick-Or-Treaters

1.  “Okay” rowdy parties with neighbors

If you’re planning on having a large party, especially one that goes into the wee hours of the morning, it’s a good idea to give your neighbors some notice. Even better, invite them to join! No one can complain about the noise if you’re all in on it!

2. Be extra cautious on your commute

Planning to party hard? Cool. Please do it safely. If you plan on drinking make sure you have a designated driver lined up or use services such as Uber or Lyft. If you are driving (and not drinking) watch out for kids in the street. Even the best kids can make a mistake and run out into the road. Drive slowly and watch both sides of the road.

3. Make sure your home is safe inside and out

Make sure there is a clear, well-lit way to and from your front door. This will help ensure no one trips while getting in and out of your party. While fake blood is to be expected, make sure no one sheds any real blood by moving glass or breakable objects out of the party area.

Weekend Events in St. Petersburg – October 15th

As a seasoned resident of St. Petersburg would expect, this weekend is full of events happening throughout the city. The beautiful weather (fall, is that you?) has finally come and it is the perfect time to spend a day out and about in our lovely city. Here are three events in St. Petersburg you should check out.

Celebrating the Arts

This weekend celebrates the re-opening of the famous Chihuly Museum to its new location 720Events in St. Petersburg Central Avenue. This is a wonderful addition to the Central Avenue Arts District with the Morean Arts Center right across the street. The new Chihuly Museum will hold a ribbon cutting at 9:30am and will open to the public 10:00am Saturday, October 15th. The Collection will remain open until 7pm. Tickets are available at the box office and there is no ticket required to enjoy the block party. Our recommendation: Have breakfast at Banyan Cafe before and an ice pop at The Hyppo after. It’ll be a amazing.

Coastal Cleanups

If environmentalism is your thing, you can participate in one of the many cleanup events in St. Petersburg Saturday morning. Crescent Lake, Mirror Lake (from 8am-11am), Clam Bayou in Gulport, North Shore Beach downtown (from 9am-12pm) are all having cleanup days. These events are hosted by Keep Pinellas Beautiful and supplies will be provided (just make sure to bring a reusable water bottle). This is an amazing way to give back to our beloved neighborhoods and keep them shining brightly.

Shopping and Music

Take advantage of this amazing weather by visiting the folks at the Saturday Morning Market from 9am-2pm in lively downtown St. Pete. It is of St. Petersburg’s most loved events to pick up all things local and regional and you can find just about anything you need here. The vendors include produce stands, local makers as well as live music. If you are new to the area, this is the best place to meet your neighbors and experience the diversity of our city. The market is held every Saturday from now until May (except March 11th, 2017) at 1st Avenue S and 1st Street S, next to the Rowdie’s Stadium.

Open Streets St. Pete Takes Over Downtown

This weekend Keep Saint Pete Local, one of St. Petersburg’s many beloved community organizations,Open Streets St. Pete introduced a new festival called Open Streets St. Pete. The Open Streets concept started in 2010 with an emphasis on making the streets available to the public for walking, biking, and community fun while regular traffic is diverted. This year was the first the idea was brought to St. Petersburg, combining it with Indie Fam Fest. It highlighted all of the best parts of our city: The makers, music, and the community.

The streets surrounding Williams park were all shut off to motorized traffic. Bikes, dogs, and vendors flooded the open pavement from 1-5pm. St. Pete has many different markets and hold its vendors in high regard. There were many local makers at Open Streets St. Pete, including St Pete’s own Kahwa Coffee, The Hole Donuts, and O’Berry’s Succulents. A food truck rally which lined the entire west side of Williams Park and kept all the bikers fed well.

Open Streets St. Pete Hoola MonstersSt. Pete’s music scene has deep and young roots. You could easily see the diversity of this at Open Streets St Pete. St. Pete Music Factory, a company who helps train kids to learn about music, put on a great show with performances from many young, talented bands. Hoola Monsters provided hula-hoops for kids while adults danced alongside to thOpen Strees St. Petee music that filled the park.

The best part was the community. Church organizations, The Tampa Bay Rays, and a myriad of businesses all came together to offer a safe, fun environment for our residents and neighbors. For those living close by, it was only a short walk or bike ride to and from the event. The surrounding neighborhoods enjoy these type of events throughout the year and its residents are proud to call areas like Old Northeast, Old Southeast, and Uptown home.
