Pet Catered Businesses

One of the most aptly named pet businesses is St. Petersbark located 2435 9th Street North, St Petersburg, fl 33704. They are a cat and dog food supply company featuring natural food and treats. In the true spirit of our local community, St. Petersbark is locally owned and supports local vendors. Some local vendors include Bodhi Basics for dog cleanliness and Robert Phelps for art prints. The owner, Krista, has worked as a vet tech so you can trust that what you’re buying is safe for your pooch or kitty. They also offer obedience classes.

Another local business is Love My Dog Resort & Playground. They offer boarding, daycare, grooming and a ton of other services for your dogs. They also have a water park, suite cameras st pete pet friendly and overnight security so you know your pet will be well taken care of. Love My Dog, Inc has two locations. One at 6427 54th Avenue North in St. Pete and their newest location downtown located at 928 18th St N. Anything you need for pet care, they can help.

Speaking of Dog Parks…

St. Petersburg has some amazing dog parks. Two of which are off-leash, centrally located to downtown, and have some human amenities as well. The first is 901 North Shore Dr. NE. near North Shore Park. It’s within walking distance of Downtown and Old Northeast neighborhoods. This is a popular park as there are many residents with pups in the area. However, you will find a large area which is mostly shaded with obstacles your dog can play on. There are also hoses avaiable so your pup can stay hydrated.

The second is Crescent Lake Dog Park on the south side of Crescent Lake Park. It is within walking or biking distance of Crescent Lake, Crescent Heights, and Old Northeast neighborhoods. It is mostly shaded and water is available. The city recently put in charging stations so pet owners can charge their mobile devices while their pup enjoys the open range. There are tow areas, one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs to keep the little pups safe. Nearby is a child’s playground, walking track and fishing at the pond is available part of the year.

St. Pete is for Pets

There are local businesses that help raise money for non-profits like Friends of Strays who help with spaying, neutering and emergency medical costs for animals. Pinellas Ale works has events frequently that donate $1 per drink sold to the organization. There are also many pet-friendly beaches, including the beautiful Fort De Soto. Cassis American Brasserie has a menu made especially for dogs and at just about any business downtown you can find dog bowls with water in them outside their doors.
